Judo Ontario received with great sadness the news of Joe Serianni on Feb 3rd, 2024.
Mr Serianni made a significant mark on judo in Ontario and Canada and will be remembered for his contribution across all aspects of the sport. He is a former President of Judo Ontario, Judo Canada Vice President and chairman of numerous committees. He was a referee at World Championships, the 1996 Olympic Games and the 2004 Paralympic Games and helped mentor and support the development of countless referees over the years. In recognition of his achievements and contributions, Mr Serianni was inducted into the Judo Canada Hall of Fame as a Builder in 2014.
